What File Types Do I Send for Printing?
We recommend PDF. You may also send the file the following types: jpg, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, and png.
We prefer that you PDFs with embedded or outlined fonts. .PDF's are easier to handle and will likely speed up your turn-around.
What Color Mode Should My Files Be?
If you send us an RGB file, there is a chance that a color shift may occur and you may not be satisfied with your job.
You should always start and finish your designs in CMYK color mode.
What Resolution should My Files Be?
Files should be 300dpi (dots per inch). Resolution below 300dpi can result in poor print quality.
How Should I Set Up Bleed Areas?
Bleed must extend past the cut-line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product.
Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut-line.
- The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125".
- The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25".
- Large Format products (banners, signs, car magnets, etc) vary from product to product
- Contact us to send you a certified template or to have us design the artwork for you
Can My Print Job Have a Border?
Yes. However, borders can be tricky, and if the border is too close to the cut lines on full bleed artwork,
it can result in borders that are off-center. Consider carefully if you really need a border.
Can I Submit a Front and Back in the Same File?
Yes, all pages can be submitted in the same file.
Depending on how and where the job is printed, we may separate the files in our shop prior to printing.
How Should Booklets Be Setup?
Booklets must be in single page format (no spreads) and the page size must be adjusted to the correct size. We will set up the pages for booklet printing in our shop.
If your FINISHED page size is 8.5x11", the pages should be set up as 8.5x11" pages. The booklet is printed on 11x17" paper, then folded in half and stapled.
If your FINISHED page is a half page, set up the page size as 5.5 x 8.5". The booklet is printed on 8.5x11" paper, then folded in half and stapled.
If your FINISHED page is 8.5 x 7", set up the page size as 7 x 8.5". The booklet is printed on 8.5x14" paper, then folded in half and stapled.
How Do I Setup a Spot UV Job?
Spot UV prints a gloss UV coating on specified parts of the job, and is usually used on business cards and postcards. To setup a Spot UV job, an extra "UV Mask" file is used. The mask file is in black printing and is only the sections that will be coated.
How Do I Use the Templates to Create Full Bleed Files?
All full bleed templates have cut lines, bleed lines and safety lines.
Bleed Lines are the border of the entire full bleed document. All artwork needs to extend to this line.
Cut Lines are where the artwork will be cut.
Safety Lines are borders in which all important text and information should be contained.
If your text is outside the safety line, it may be cut off.
Please specify the size of the artwork you are designing and
which program you are using so we can send the best template for you!
